With multiple stakeholders involved in Innovate NI and to avoid duplication in PR, we have developed protocols which we would encourage stakeholders to follow.
PR and Media Relations Protocol
Protocol |
Detail |
Milestone PR for Innovate NI & Innovation Accreditation |
Invest NI, in conjunction with DfE, will lead on Innovate NI and the Innovation Accreditation milestone PR and social media activity. We will share these news releases with all stakeholders and will tag stakeholders on our social media posts. |
Invest NI customers & innovation |
Invest NI will lead on PR/social media activity in relation to Invest NI customers and their innovation activity and participation in the Innovation Accreditation Programme.
If a Council or FE College has a relationship with a business and that business is also an Invest NI customer, we would ask that you do not progress any specific Innovation PR with that business without prior discussion with Invest NI Communications. This is to avoid duplication or a clash in PR schedules. Invest NI may already have a PR plan in progress for that customer that stakeholders would need to be aware off. |
Council & FE Colleges innovation activity (with non- Invest NI customers) |
Local Councils and Further Education colleges are encouraged to do Innovation PR/social media activity with non-Invest NI customers. This will help promote innovation as a concept, other innovation programmes, Innovate NI and non-Invest NI’s customers/local business participation in the Innovation Accreditation Programme. |

For all press releases where the story is principally about innovation, we would encourage stakeholders to use the appropriate PR straplines at the end of all press releases, to correctly reference Innovate NI.
