Chieftain have always strived to make continuous improvement to its product range and customer experience, in what is a highly competitive industry sector.
This is through product quality, equipment efficiency, lead times and customer service.
One significant area of development is robotic welding and Chieftain needed to teach its staff the programming skills needed to maximise productivity using robotic welding cells.
They worked with Northern Regional College to develop a bespoke upskilling programme which included
- Programming fundamentals for robotic welding
- Modifying and editing robot programme positions
- Correct storage methods
- Safety requirements
- Managing inputs. outputs and error codes
The result was a team of competent, confident staff, with the knowledge to use the systems for programme development, product design, and to significantly shorten lead times.
